Should you learn how to be a Reiki practitioner online? Why or why not?

You can learn online from a good (awakened) teacher. I never met in person with my guru. All that I learned from him, I learned via Internet communication, watching his videos and personal practice (applying what I learned in my life). The only why not that I can think of is: bad (ignorant) teacher. (and bad Internet connection 🙂 )
